Innovative technology up close: Open day at TTZ Bad Kissingen!
Now it's time to take a look behind the scenes of the innovative research world! The Bad Kissingen Technology Transfer Center (TTZ-KG) of the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Technology (THWS) cordially invites you to its open day. On Friday, November 21, 2025, visitors can expect an exciting program that will appeal not only to school classes but also to the general public. As part of this event, interested parties can take part in fascinating laboratory demonstrations from 12:30 p.m. that deal with robotics, 3D printing, artificial intelligence and image recognition. There is also the opportunity to listen to free keynote speeches from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on topics such as robot-assisted automation and digital diagnostics.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lisa Kiesewetter, who has taken over the helm of TTZ-KG since April 2025, will open the event and provide exciting insights into the research work and developments in laboratory analysis. The donor companies that present themselves at information stands will also present their training and entry opportunities. There is a lot to learn here not only about research, but also about practical collaboration between science and industry.
Insights into research and training
Visitors have the opportunity to explore innovative projects and see the TTZ-KG's modern facilities for themselves. In addition to the lectures and live demonstrations, guests can actively participate in hands-on stations and exchange ideas with the center's employees and Prof. Kiesewetter. The event not only offers an excellent opportunity to find out more about the latest developments in medical technology, but also about the study and further training opportunities at the THWS. According to ttz-kg.thws.de, the focus is on knowledge transfer between industry and universities in order to strengthen the retention of skilled workers in the region.
The TTZ-KG, which was only founded in 2023, has quickly gained importance and is dedicated to applied research in the areas of laboratory analysis and medical technology. With a clear focus on sustainable digital transformation, the Bad Kissingen facility is ideally positioned to act as a key player in technology transfer. With a strong cluster and high laboratory density, the region offers optimal conditions for innovative developments.
