Erlanger Bergkirchweih 2025: Festival of beers and rides begins!

There is currently a lot of anticipation in ErlangenErlanger BergkirchweihAll eyes will be on you over the next few weeks. From June 5th to 16th, 2025, tens of thousands of visitors traditionally gather on the “Berch”, a picturesque hill in the city. This folk festival, one of the oldest in Germany since 1755, has become a real highlight in the Bavarian event calendar. If the weather is good, the organizers are expecting numerous guests from near and far who want to enjoy the typical festival atmosphere.

The offering at the Bergkirchweih is truly diverse. Visitors can look forward to regional beers from around 12 festival hosts and explore numerous food stalls. The historic beer cellars that characterize the festival offer cozy places to enjoy a cold beer. A colorful supporting program

A highlight of the Bergkirchweih is the traditional tapping of the barrel, which takes place on June 5th at 5 p.m. by Mayor Florian Janik in front of the Henninger-Keller. In addition to rides, the supporting program also includes live music. The approximately 90 attractions on the festival grounds include popular rides such as roller coasters, ghost trains and carousels.
The family days, which are scheduled for June 12th, are particularly exciting and have numerous additional offers for the little festival visitors.

There will also be a special service that will be celebrated on Sunday, June 15th at 9 a.m. in the Erich Keller. The crowning conclusion is the burial of the last barrel on June 16th at 11 p.m. - an atmospheric finale for the Bavarian folk festival.

There are various options available for getting there: on foot, by bike, public transport or car. During the festival, a shuttle service will take visitors comfortably to the mountain square. However, drivers should note that parking options near the festival site are limited. If you want to travel by train, you can reach Erlangen train station in about 20 to 30 minutes on foot.
