Felix Luz will be the new head coach at Viktoria Aschaffenburg!

Viktoria Aschaffenburg welcomed a breath of fresh air into the coaching team today. Felix Luz, a 43-year-old former professional player, will be the new head coach of the “White-Blue”. Luz, who has held the coaching A license since 2018, brings a wealth of experience with him: his career includes 44 appearances in the second Bundesliga, 59 games in the third division and over 130 games in the regional league. Luz was active for clubs such as VfB Stuttgart II, TSG Hoffenheim, FC Augsburg and FC St. Pauli and made a name for himself as a fine kicker. About his new role, he explained that he was confident that he could achieve relegation with hard work. The contract runs until June 30, 2026, with the option to extend. Sports director Felix Magath has full confidence in Luz’s abilities and his influence on the team.

The coaching team is supplemented by Daniel Soldevilla, who successfully supervised the last three games before the winter break, and Jürgen Bleistein, who acts as a rehabilitation and athletic trainer. Gerald Mai, who previously worked as an assistant coach, is now supporting the club in an advisory capacity.

An important home win in the relegation battle

The club recently celebrated an important home win in the relegation battle, which underlines the changed situation in the coaching team even more. In the game against Illertissen, who have only won once in the last eight games, Alen Camdzic scored the decisive goal in the 11th minute. Aschaffenburg started the game strongly, but had a great chance in the 8th minute through Schulz that went unused. After Camdzic's goal, the Aschaffenburg defense dominated, while the Illertissers hardly posed any threat.

What is particularly noteworthy is that the team remained steadfast in the end despite missed opportunities like Schulz's in the 53rd minute. Aschaffenburg was able to reach 14th place in this game, which is closer to staying in the league. After Damir Agovic was released, the change in the coaching team makes it clear that they are hoping for new impulses to safely master the season.

A look into the future

The change of coach and the victory that has now been achieved are a positive development for Viktoria. Players and those responsible are optimistic that the challenges ahead of them can be mastered with Felix Luz at the head of the coaching team. The Bavarian Regional League remains exciting, and for Aschaffenburg it is about continuing the trend and approaching the next games with similar determination.
